The Perm letter: no psychiatric consequences

The Perm letter, a document which was provided by Russian authorities apparently says that the defendant was placed under observation because of schizophrenia. The court  raised five qestions for the psychiatric expert who was heard again:

1. What is in the Perm letter? The expert: the defendant joined a therapy group in July 1st 2000 according to a psychiatric diagnosis which was named as a schizophrenic episode with remission.

2. What was the diagnostic classification? The expert: there is no specific indication subject to a lack of characteristic relevancy.

3. Has there been any indication or consequences for psychiatric  therapy?  The expert: there is no indication for former  therapy, neither in Russia nor in Germany (since 2003)

4. Does the 10 years old diagnosis  has any relevancy to the actual psychiatric status of the defendant? The expert: there is no indication for schizophrenia

5. Is there a direct psychiatric interaction between schizophrenic symptoms and the behavior of the defendant when he committed the crime? The expert: there is no such link and/or interaction to the crime.

Again the pychiatric expert repeated his former evaluation and conclusion  that Alex W. is sane and responsible for the crime. If he was only faking schizophrenic symtoms to avoid military service the expert was unable to answer.
